Going out to see a show doesn’t necessarily have to mean a concert. In the coming months, Austin has lots of great options for you and your whole family. If you are in the mood to laugh or have a special night out with the kids, there are a number of shows coming to Austin between now and the end of the year.
October 1st brings Daniel Tosh and “Tosh Tour Twenty Ten” to the stage of the Bass Concert Hall. There will be a 7:30 and a 10:30 performance by the host of Comedy Central’s internet clip show Tosh.0. The very next night at the Paramount Theatre-Austin, Patton Oswalt will be appearing October 2nd at 8pm. You may remember him from his role in the documentary “The Comedians of Comedy” and TV’s “The King of Queens”. Finishing out October is Aziz Ansari on his “Dangerously Deliciuous” tour. Aziz can be seen regularly on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”. He will be performing 2 shows on the 17th at the Paramount Theatre-Austin. There will be a 7:30pm and a 10pm show.
November 13th welcomes George Lopez. He can be seen nightly on TBS’s “Lopez Tonight”. Come on down to the Cedar Park Center and see “America’s Mexican”. The show starts at 8pm. The Paramount Theatre-Austin will pack a double punch on the 19th and 20th of November. The 19th brings Louis C.K. to the stage. The star, writer, and director of the FX series “Louie” will unleash his self-deprecating fury on his eager fans the 19th. On November 20th the very funny, and very British, John Oliver invades Austin. You’ve seen him doing the fake news on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”, now see him doing real comedy.
Looking for a great night out with the kids? Come and see the man in the yellow hat and your favorite little monkey dance and sing at Curious George Live October 9th and 10th at the Erwin Center. The show is based on the popular PBS series Curious George and is sure to be a memorable experience for your little one. For your older kids, enjoy Shrek-The Musical. Based on the hit original DreamWorks movie Shrek, this musical event is getting rave reviews and will be a huge hit with your family too. It has a 6-day run from November 2nd thru the 7th at the Bass Concert Hall. Get ready to dance, sing and play with DJ Lance and all your Gabba pals at the Yo Gabba Gabba Live “There’s A Party In My City” tour coming to the Cedar Park Center on December 11th.. The tour will be joined by a series of special surprise guests and bands to dancey dance with.
December has two great opportunities for some Christmas related shows. December 4th-19th at the Michael & Susan Dell Hall, “The Nutcracker” will be performed accompanied by Ballet Austin. December 17th-31st you can see the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular”. See the Rockettes live at the Bass Concert Hall. The concert season in Austin is full of possibilities.
